Armenian Actress & Producer
Anna Maxim (Anna Harutyunyan) was born on January 16, 1989, in Yerevan. She studied at Yerevan Secondary School No. 88 named after Yohanes Lepsius. At the age of 18, she was admitted to the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, acting department, where she studied for 4 years (2006-2010).
In 2007, she performed at the "Goy" Experimental Theatre as an actress. During her student years, she appeared in various films and TV series: "Vorbere," "Generali aghjike," "Anna," "Urishi hogin," "Siro gortsaktits," "Shkamutuq," "Chicago Tsaghkadzor tranzit." From 2010 to 2012, she continued her master's studies at ASPU's Faculty of Art Theory and History. From 2017 to 2019, she was admitted to the Moscow All-Russian Institute - VGIK, Directing Department.
In 2017, as a director, she filmed the short films "Taraskhalnеrov karot," "Tultsuk," and "Aniko." The film "Aniko" received 9 international awards. In 2020, as co-director, she filmed the feature film “The Armenian.”
In 2024, she presented the feature film "The Reverse Side of the Medal" as director, screenwriter, producer, and lead actress. In 2024, the film was recognized as the best feature film at the "Pomegranate" festival. In 2025, the film was presented at a number of prestigious international film festivals, such as the Eurasia Film Festival and the Shanghai International Film Festival. It received high praise from Armenia's professional guilds, winning four awards: best director, best screenplay, best makeup artist, and best cinematographer.
